Grapes were hand-picked and brought directly to the winery in 1/2 ton totes in perfect condition. They were meticulously hand sorted on a shaker table then destemmed into 2-ton open top, stainless steel fermenters. The fermentation was arrested by fortification with a brandy of Pinot noir. The wine was then racked into a mixture of new and used  60 gallon French oak barrels. Tudor Hall is made in a Solera style which is the process of aging wine by fractional blending in such a way that the finished product is a mixture of ages, with the average age gradually increasing as the process continues over many years.
